Report on CC05 (Central Conference 2005)

Thank you so very much for praying for CC05. God had mightily answered the prayers and it was a very blessed time. About 60 people had attended the conference and was the largest group for CC. This was based on the network from Equipper Conference and we also had some new people added to the fellowship. It was certainly a rich fellowship in Central and Mid West of Japanese Christians. We thank God for the smooth conferene wihtout any major troubles Pastor Nishikori had spoken four times on the conference theme, "Vitamin J for Your Heart", from the New Testament. We had various workshops such as World Mission (Rev. Kazuo Ozaki), Church Discussion (Izaya Takahashi), Mentoring (Setsu Kuroda JCFN Staff / Mayumi Takahashi), Personal Worship 101 (Paul Suzuki), Bible Study 101 for Non Christians (Izaya Takahashi). Participants had very positive responces to both messages and workships. We sensed the works of the Holy Spirit. Every night, we had small group discussion time. One interesting thing was that on Sunday, we split into several groups to attend local church worship. As you know, we have a very famous church, Willow Creek in town, but more people joined a Japanese Church service. That Japanese church was literally 'packed' that Sunday morning. For some participants, it was their very first time attending the Japanese worship service. This fact reveals a very reason for our ministry in Mid-West where there are very few Japanese churches and fellowships and peopole are hungry for Japanese fellowship since there are no Japanse Christians who live close by.

There were many struggles and difficulties in the preparation stage including N.H. had to return to Japan after finding out she had cancer. However, God is good and had provided a way out, provided us a unity in the team, and allowed us to complete our tasks. We also had a time to pray for N.H. and asked God for miraculous healings. From JCFN, we had Setsu Kuroda and it was her first time attending CC. She was able to experience the needs and blessings of the mid-west regions and also had given us advise and support. JCFN Mid-West Region does not have many activities, but it is growing and maturing. Some of the core members will move to various places, and we will need more committed members. We cast the vision to the conferees and will expect God to raise new leaders. We ask you to continously pray for Japanese Christians in Mid-West Region.
